The official presentation of the coveted German Design Award took place last Friday, parallel to the opening of the world's largest consumer goods fair, Ambiente, in Frankfurt. Together with Gabriele Engel from Siemens, Vuframe CEO Andreas Zeitler was able to receive the coveted prize on stage.

The “Siemens Campus Erlangen Digital App”, or SCE Digital App for short, selected and awarded by the German Design Council, was officially presented and released to the general public for the first time in August 2018. With the help of the app, the available BIM data (Building Information Modeling) was used to experience and explore the campus during the planning phase.

Instead of conventional, two-dimensional blueprints, a kind of “digital twin” of the entire campus has been created. With the help of the digital app created via the Vuframe® platform, it was possible to take a “virtual” walk across the campus even before the groundbreaking ceremony. You move in your own virtual world, under trees and on sidewalks between buildings.

We are extremely pleased to receive this award and see it as confirmation that no company will be able to avoid technologies such as augmented reality or virtual reality in the future. Not only the collaboration with Siemens in this case shows that the much-discussed digitalization can be implemented very easily – we have the “turnkey” software solution for it.
