Framerate / FPS Guide
Review this Framerate Performance Guide in case you have trouble with the 3D performance on your device.
If you experience choppy animations or slow response in Vuframe's 3D views, follow these steps to optimize performance.
Graphics Drivers
Outdated or incorrect graphics drivers are the most common cause of poor performance. For optimal results:
- Install the latest drivers directly from NVIDIA, AMD, or Intel websites
- Avoid Windows automatic driver updates
- Uninstall existing drivers completely before updating
- Restart your system after driver installation
Minimum FPS Requirements
- 60 FPS: Recommended for smooth interaction
- 30 FPS: Minimum acceptable for basic functionality
- Below 30 FPS: User experience will be significantly impacted
Performance Optimization
If you're experiencing low framerates:
- Close background applications
- Set Windows power plan to "High Performance"
- Disable Windows Game Mode
- Check GPU temperature for thermal throttling
- Verify your GPU meets minimum requirements
Measuring Performance
Vuframe includes a built-in FPS counter in the latest app version for Windows:
- Press F6 to show/hide the counter
- Monitor FPS during typical usage
- Check for consistent drops below 60 FPS
Known Issues
- Integrated graphics may struggle with complex 3D models
- Running on battery power reduces performance
- Multiple high-resolution displays impact framerates
- Background Windows updates can temporarily affect performance
