Due to the pandemic, it was no longer possible to physically present the new models for the upcoming barbecue season to Weber dealers and customers due to the cancellation of all trade fairs and dealer events.
A digital solution therefore had to be found quickly.
The requirements for such a solution were high. After all, users should still be able to interact with the new products, learn about new functions and, of course, experience the new designs in an appealing way.
In Vuframe®, Weber found a partner with years of experience and the know-how to master the challenges ahead.
After the initial discussions, it became clear what potential lay in the collaboration.
Therefore, the goal was not just to make the product portfolio available digitally, in 3D, augmented and virtual reality. The decision was also made to integrate the future solution into other areas of the company.
For example, it was to serve as sales support to ensure a modern, digital product presentation for pre-orders.
In addition, the grill innovations were to be made available to partners and premium partners via a digital training platform.
The All-in-One App
Vuframe developed a mobile AR app for iOS and Android that can be used to display all grill models in 3D and AR in their original size and scalable.
Each grill model was equipped with a variety of interaction options. The respective exhibits can not only be viewed from the outside, opening the lid and the doors allows the user to take a look inside the grill.
The burner, light and other accessories can also be switched on. And to make your barbecue heart beat faster, you can now give free rein to your culinary delights, from juicy steaks and crispy chicken to delicious grilled vegetables. All of this enables a completely new type of product communication for Weber.
The app also allows sales-relevant information to always be available directly and up-to-date on the tablet or smartphone.
This means that outdated sales documents are a thing of the past and the company also saves on printing presentation material, which is also a great benefit in terms of sustainability.
Weber meets virtual reality.
Weber is also using an innovative VR (virtual reality) app to finally convince retailers of the new products.
With the VR app and the accompanying VR glasses, users can now experience the digital twin of the individual barbecue models up close. The virtual reality solution enables Weber dealers to explore and interact with the barbecues in a virtual environment.
Product Training 4.0
The new innovative VR solution also allows Weber to further improve the quality of product training for its sales staff.The realistic presentation and the wide range of interaction options with the various models allow a better understanding of the products to be created straight away. The use of the VR app also eliminates the need to produce unnecessary illustrative materials in physical form.
This turns every sales training course into an interactive experience.
Weber is now successfully using these two solutions in over 15 countries for dealer presentations and digital product presentations for pre-orders.
